Sensational Movie “Eenadu” Completes 7 Years

The sensational movie that shook the heads of many critics and film lovers “A Wednesday” was bought into Telugu as “Eenadu,” and it’s not just an ordinary movie. Director Chakri Toleti has a fairly easy job as the film is a remake and he does a fairly neat job barring the unnecessary inclusions in the script.
The film “Eenadu” starring Kamal Hasan and Venkatesh is an official remake of Bollywood’s “A Wednesday,” which starred Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah. “Eenadu” completes 7 years today, which was released on 19th September 2009.
Getting into the story: former Police Commissioner Eshwar Prasad (Venkatesh) recalls the one day that changed his life forever. The story begins with the call he gets from a stranger (Kamal) who says that bombs have been planted across various parts of the city. What is assumed to be a prank turns out to be real with a bomb close to the police headquarters. Eshwar takes matters seriously and ropes in two of his best men Gautham and Arif Khan to the job.

The stranger demands the release of four most wanted terrorists responsible for the bomb blasts in the city and across the nation. After a while, Eshwar complies to the demand and gets the accused to the said site. However, a sudden surprise awaits the police force and also those who were expecting a typical release. What is that and why it happens forms the rest of the story.
Venkatesh has stolen the limelight with his excellent performance and has made the audiences remember his famed police story “Gharshana.” His physique, body language, dress code everything perfectly suits the role. Moreover, he has given an exemplary performance as a sincere Police officer.
Kamal Hassan a genius par excellence, has hailed in the role of a common man, who is concerned about the unlawful activities happening around him. Kamal’s daughter Shruti Hassan who made her debut as a music director with “Eenadu” did a splendid job and the movie’s background score elevated the movie’s tempo to the next level.
It has a huge plus point, that is the coming together of two superstars of the South, Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh on the big screen something not seen in Telugu cinema. The movie is still quite fresh in people’s mind.
