Secret Behind N.T.R’s role in “Janatha Garage”

Perhaps Indian cinemas need to blend different genres, blur the lines and create fine mixtures. It comes from the strong Indian family system, with entire families watching movies together, which brings about the necessity of satisfying all categories of audiences at once. And that, in turn, has given rise to a unique genre that only Indian cinema can claim to have – a complete entertainer. One director who knows how to blend all the necessary commercial elements is Koratala Siva. Though he is just two films old, the director has carved a niche for himself and is one among the elite list of star directors.

His third and the latest movie “Janatha Garage” with N.T.R and Mohanlal has raised many expectations and recently release theatrical trailer has set the expectations sky-rocketed. The theatrical trailer presented N.T.R in a never before role of a nature lover, who goes mercilessly against the people who harm the nature.
Perhaps, the director Koratala Siva has been inspired by Sunderlal Bahuguna, one of the all-time best environmentalists of the world.Sunderlal Bahuguna was also the founder of world famous ‘Chipko movement, a protest against the deforestation in the Himalayas. Maybe the director has taken a cue from these and was immensely inspired by such great environmentalists in designing thecharacter of NTR in “Janatha Garage.”
Koratala Siva who conveyed an underlying message with his previous movies “Mirchi” and “Srimanthudu” seems to have a preachy theme about nature and our responsibility towards it. Deforestation and Global warming are two major concerns that need an immediate addressal. Hopefully, Koratala Siva’s message reaches the width and breadth and changes one’s outlook towards nature.
