K.T.R., is in Complete Awe of “Pellichoopulu”

The last few months have been very interesting for Telugu cinema buffs. A movie was released, which is special for a very small yet distinct reason– and it is generally not part of the mainstream cinema. Few movies recently have broken stereotypes in the most unlikely of manners and we owe them a big round of applause for doing so. One such movie is Vijay Devarakonda  Ritu Varma starrer “Pellichoopulu,” which is doing an amazing business all across and is all likely to script history, in terms of collections.

“Pellichoopulu” Movie Review

Right from the day the teaser was released “Pelli Choopulu,” has been creating incessant positive buzz. The Tarun Bhaskar directorial romcom has Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma in the lead roles and is all set for a grand release tomorrow. But the movie was already premiered on 26th July. Let’s take a look at the movie’s story and how it fares at the box-office.
“Pelli Choopulu” is the story of a carefree youngster Prashanth, played by Vijay, and a highly focused and career oriented girl Chitra (Ritu Varma.)
Story: Prashanth (Vijay,) is a happy go lucky guy who doesn’t have any ambitions or goals in life and leads an aimless life and all his father’s advice falls on deaf ears. Irritated by his son’s irresponsible behavior, his father plans to get him married to Chitra (Ritu Varma) with hopes of setting him on the right track. But to his dismay, the hero receives an outright rejection from Chitra, who shows little respect for people with no aim in life; while her ambition is to run a food business.
Bad luck continues to haunt Prashanth as he faces similar kinds of rejection from another girl as well, but the girl’s father gives him a chance to prove himself as a businessman before asking for his daughter’s hand again. With a changed and focused mindset, Vijay steps into the food business and seeks Ritu’s help in becoming her business partner. Eventually, cupid strikes! From here, how two individuals with contrasting characters from an initial rejection to final acceptance forms the crux of this story.
Performances: The cast has been chosen judiciously, with everyone giving a flawless performance. Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma have played their roles aptly.
Verdict: On the whole, “Pellichoopulu” brings a whiff of fresh air amidst core commercial movies and it’s worth a resounding applause.
