Babu Bangaram Movie Review

Finally, Maruthi has proved that he can also do regular format films dealing with family and emotions, but of course not miss out his mark of entertainment. ‘Victory’ Venkatesh starring in “Babu Bangaram” hitting the screens on 12th of August, is yet another success adding to the kitties of both Venky and director Maruthi. As already reported, “Babu Bangaram” is just simple and ordinary, family and love drama filled with whole lot of fun for which Venkatesh can be said to be a brand Ambassador in the Telugu Film Industry.
Getting into the story, ACP Krishna (Venkatesh,) is a very soft hearted cop to the extent of getting into tears seeing the troubles of criminals too. Sailu (Nayanatara) is a middle class girl who has family issues, that is to be financially independent and to take care of her large family. Her father is absconding from Police, as a false murder case has been implicated on him. MLA Puchappa (Posani)and Mallesh Yadav (Sampath), the goons causing major trouble for Sailu,  to find out the whereabouts of her father. Krishna falls in love with Sailu and solves all the problems while punishing the bad guys.
Why the MLA is after Sailu’s father? What happens with the love story of ACP Krishna and Sailu? What is the reason behind ACP Krishna being so soft hearted and how did he get strong enough to face the baddies? Answers to all these will be known when the theatres open. It is assured that you will have a fun ride with smiles and laughs for the whole two and odd hours.
Story was very easy for a director like Maruthi having senior artistes like Venkatesh and Nayanatara to deal with. Typical and funny Venkatesh is seen back after a long time in the theatres with his great comic timing. Nayanatara was ever gorgeous, and the combo ofVenky-Nayan looks to have bagged yet another success. Songs by Ghibran were very hummable and fresh. Special mention need to be done for ’30 years industry’ Prudhvi Raj, as Battayi Kayala Babji and Posani as MLA Puchappa for the comedy.
Over all, Babu Bangaram is a good and a simple entertainer leaving the audience with a happy feeling after watching the film. Maruthi has once again scored a good success after his last “Bhale bhale Magadivoy”. Please, you cannot afford to miss the very first scenes of the film which shows peak of pity by Venkatesh in a different role altogether. Details of that are a secret for now as you need to watch it on the big screens!!!

Babu Bangaram missed the hits

Some movies become classic hits not only because of the story line but also because of the actors who impress the audiences with their excellent acting. But sometimes it turns out that the actor who won the accolades for his performance was not the first choice of the director.
A few films are initially offered to a favored actor, and upon first refusal the script lands in the hands of another actor. Here is a list of some super hits rejected by the star hero ‘Victory’ Venkatesh.
Gharshana (Old): Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam had approached Venkatesh and Nagarjuna with the story of ‘Gharshana,’ both the heroes showing no keen interest, Maniratnam chose Karthik and Prabhu for their roles and the movie turned out to be a massive hit.
Roja: Is one of the finest movies of Mani Ratnam, which catapulted his stardom to the National level and introduced the heartthrob Arvind Swamy. But, initially Mani Ratnam has once again approached Venkatesh for ‘Roja,’ but the actor has once again rejected amicably.
Oke Okkadu: One of the most sensational movies of the decade directed by Shankar, the movie was initially offered to Venkatesh, though he liked the script, couldn’t be a part of the project as he was committed to other projects.
Santosham: After a series of flops, ‘Santosham’ brought a whiff of fresh air for Nagarjuna and gave him a fresh lease of life. The movie turned out to be one of the biggest hits of that year. Interestingly, Dasharadh had approached Venkatesh with the story, as he was more famous for family dramas. But, this film too missed by Venkatesh for some unsaid reasons.

Venky’s “Babu Bangaram” Twists and Turns to spin a Tale

Director Maruthi has a way of surprising audiences in contrast to the expected genre. For example, “Prema Katha Chitram” was considered to be a romance; however, it ended to be a real hit as a horror-thriller- comedy. This film became the archetype for many other talented directors projects likeSundar C’s “Chandra Kala,” Lawrence’s “Ganga” and Govi’s “Nayaki.”
Now, Maruthi appears to be repeating the same formula for “Babu Bangaram” as well. Presently, the movie is being promoted by Maruthi as a light romantic comedy something along the lines of “Bale Bale Magadivoy.” However, confidential sources say “Babu Bangaram” is filled with tons of action from Venkatesh. Five to six mind-blowing fight scenes are sure to thrill us to the core.
This is Venkatesh‘s long-awaited return to an action thriller genre, well after over a decade. The last movie in which Venky was seen as a powerful cop was in “Gharshana,” released in 2004.
The ardent fans of Venky are waiting with abated breath to see their hero back in action mode.
The movie’s audio launch is fixed on 24th July, followed by film’s release on 12th August.
